Full screen video

Over 120 hours of video covering subjects across the entire National Curriculum. Support resources include: glossary definitions for difficult words, maps showing geographical context, and follow-up activities such as screen tests and multiple-choice quizzes.

Espresso modules

Weekly updated archive containing hundreds of curriculum-related video news items and newspaper articles. Differentiated stories include simpler language and concepts for Key Stage 1 pupils, and audio book articles for Foundation students. 'Using the News' activities take the news as a starting point for pupil discussion and presentations.

Our lively cartoon characters - Sal, Ash and their friends - make Espresso a welcoming and fun experience for pupils.

Expresso

Encourages children to express their ideas and thoughts about Espresso content and see them published on the Espresso service.

Search engine

Easy-to-use search feature which allows you to search by keyword, National Curriculum subject, Key Stage or resource type.

Learning Paths

Targeted at learning objectives, Learning Paths link to relevant Espresso resources offering activities and suggestions for extensions. They can be teacher-led and implemented as a lesson or used by children independently.

Learning Reviews

Designed to allow pupils to test and record their knowledge and understanding of the learning objectives addressed in the module. Features child friendly language and tools to validate self-assessment.

Staffroom

Support information for teachers. Features lesson plans showing how Espresso can be used to meet National Curriculum requirements, plus links to national frameworks for literacy, numeracy and QCA schemes. The staffroom also includes videos on using Espresso with interactive whiteboards, an ideas exchange, step by step guides showing how to use Espresso with other software and a library of research carried out into the use of Espresso.
